JAMES DUCHESNEAU (Jacquot)
James Duchesneau is a Canadian musician and educational songwriter.
After a brief stint as a teacher in the 1970s, he left that profession behind to pursue a life-long dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. He is a two time Juno Award nominee, has sold tens of thousands of CDs, and has performed live for close to 1 million people.
As an educational songwriter, his songs have been sung by millions of children, helping them to learn French more quickly and effectively. As an educational publisher, he has presented workshops to countless French second language teachers across the country interested in using his educational songs as an integral part of their programs.
Seven years ago, he experienced a severe bout of suicidal depression. He drew on this painful experience to write and co-write 21 songs dealing with various aspects of the healing process and recorded them with well-known Quebecois producer and musician Pierre Côté.
